brought feeling, as they shared from their interview with Ken Cloke.
I found interesting their extrapolations of the looking at oneself, and the use of the word evil in how one responds to conflict in a revengeful way. I thank you for the warmth, and identifications within your expression from the interview and listening moment.
Peace and good health for all.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your comment. I do believe that humanity goes through collective changes, even if subtle. One of those may be evolution in how or what we feel responsible for. Of course, there are cultural, learning, and genetic factors; but these are not what I refer too. I’m thinking more on the level of a kind collective consciousness such as Jung wrote about.

Thank you for the insight. I will continue to ponder about the relationship between individual growth and how that relates to betterment of those around us.

[9:42]“Perhaps we are individually responsible to other people to grow ourselves. We usually think of our personal growth as a personal choice and personal responsibility, but I am implying that perhaps there’s a greater responsibility there, that we are responsible to grow and develop based on our responsibility to humanity, our species, or others around us”

Comment on Episode 18: Mark Gerzon – Are You Big Enough? Ahh – thank you Martin! So glad you found the conversation with Mark stimulating! We did too! Funny thing is – I was at that same workshop with Robert Kegan years ago, that Richard McGuigan arranged. At that time, I wrote an article for Richard (and his partner Sylvia McMechan) that got published. That article is above in the “RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THE PODCAST – Julia’s article that mentions Robert”. 🙂 I have referenced this taxonomy quite a bit and find it helpful. Lovely lovely that you are in France!
Thanks again!

Not being an academic myself I always love listening to people in so deep. Richard McGuigan As a local example. I did a workshop with Keagan many years ago. The language was so esoteric to me at that time that it was sometimes hard to follow the threads. I had no such problems with Mark and yet the content was electrifying at times. Thanks you guys.
Listening in France. 🙂

Comment on Episode 6: Adam Kahane – Collaborating with the Enemy by Martin Golder https://www.onconflictpodcast.com/adam-kahane-episode-6/#comment-24 Thu, 15 Nov 2018 20:01:28 +0000 https://www.onconflictpodcast.com/?p=368#comment-24 I enjoyed that. Sometime ago I reduced 20 years of ADR after 20 years of architecture to one word ‘Listen’.
Then to add action I added ‘Be Kind’. More recently I distilled all my experience in these fields to a short paragraph. So ‘in my humble opinion’ here it is:
Differences are the source of all creation.
Conflict is Differences searching for space and relationship.
Disputes are when Conflicts become stuck and are unable to move forward.
The lubrications to unstick disputes are Empathy and Compassion.
The methodology is to Listen, to be curious and to be Kind.
